Det er vanskelig ikke å elske denne retten, og det finnes like mange måter å lage det på, som det finnes kokker og kjøkkenamatører.
Ingredienser:
4 ss sukker
1–2 egg
7 dl melk (cirka)
6 dl hvetemel
1/4 ts salt
Hva enn annet du vil ha i (kanel, vaniljesukker, kardemomme …)
Slik gjør du det:
Bland sukker og egg i en bolle, og visp i vei til du får en brukbar eggedosis.
Tilsett litt og litt melk og mel og visp til du får en jevn røre.
Når du har hatt i all melka og melet, og røra di er jevn, kan du ha i salt, og eventuelle andre ting.
Så setter du bollen med røre i til side, slenger over noen handklær eller lignende, og lar den svelle i 30-60 min, jo lenger jo bedre.
Deretter tar du og slenger en liten klatt smør i ei panne og varmer opp. Går steketoppen din opp til 9, bruker du 7. Om 3, 2,5 osv.
Ha i en øse i panna og gjerne litt til avhengig (av hvor store og tynne pannekaker du vil ha). Hold panna med en hand og roter den til røra fordeler seg jevnt utover.
Når den begynner å stivne og kantene ruller seg opp, kan du bruke en stekespade og se hvordan den ser ut under. Har du mye smør, vil du få et fint mønster. Det viktigste er uansett at kaka får litt farve.
Så er det bare å steke seg gjennom røra, og enten servere dem rett etter steking til de sultende massene, eller lage en stabel på et fat og legge et lokk over slik at de holder varmen bedre (ev. bruk en ildfast form med lokk).
Server med hva enn du føler for. Jeg liker dem godt med bacon, blåbærsyltetøy, og sukker, ev. smør, sukker, og kanel. De er også gode med kokt potet, bacon, og tomatbønner; ost og skinke; det mest egentlig.

It’s hard not to love this dish, and there are as many ways to make them as there are cooks and kitchen amateurs.
Ingredients:
4 tablespoons sugar
1–2 eggs
7 dl milk (about)
6 dl all-purpose floor
1/4 ts salt
Whatever else you want to add (cinnamon, vanilla sugar, cardamom …)
How you do it:
Mix sugar and eggs in a bowl, and whisk away until you’ve got a nice kogel mogel.
Add milk and flour a bit at a time until you have a smooth batter.
When you’ve added all the milk and flour and your batter is smooth, add some salt and whatever else you want (or don’t).
Put the bowl away for some time, add some kitchen towels or something on the top of it, and let it swell for 30-60 mins. The longer, the better.
Then add some butter to a pan and heat it up. If your stove goes up to 9, use 7. If 3, 2,5 etc.
Pour a ladle of batter into the pan, and maybe even some more (depending on how big and thin you want your pancakes). Hold the pan with one hand and rotate it so the batter spreads evenly in the pan.
When it’s starting to stiffen and the ends of the pancake curls up, you can use a spatula to see how it looks. If you use a lot of butter, you’ll get a nice pattern on it. The most important is that it has some colour. I like to flip them when they’re turning into a nice, soft caramel colour.
Then you just fry ’em up, and either serve them straight from the frying pan to the hungering masses, or make a stack on a plate and put a lid on top, so they’ll retain the heat (or just use an ovenproof dish with a lid).
Serve with whatever you want. I prefer them with bacon, blueberry jam, and sugar, or butter, sugar, and cinnamon. They’re also good with boiled potatoes, bacon, and tomato beans; ham and cheese; most stuff, really.
